Wednesday Evening Debates in Jazzclub Truba, 2007
In May 2006 the AMSU and The Open Siberia Agency announced the joint creation of the first independent, public centre for international cooperation, expertise and discussion in Novosibirsk, Siberia.
This venue offers public debates, innovative community projects, as well as an annual Winter Academy - in collaboration with partner organizations in Siberia - for an audience of creative professionals, socially active business leaders and citizens in professional communities in the city of Novosibirsk and other Siberian regions.
The Third Place (Kuhnya), as the centre is called, organizes a weekly meeting in Jazzclub Truba. These meetings provide a public stage for social questions and observations. The following presentations, discussions, debates and projects have taken place in the last 6 months. Read more …
Parade of ideas 2007
On May 19, 2007 The Parade of Ideas has awarded the most successful community projects of the city of Novosibirsk. The Parade of Ideas stimulates the creativity of individuals, groups and organizations and challenges anybody with new initiatives to brighten up the city with a small grant and administrative support of KUHNYA. On invitation of Kuhnya Simon Mundy will visit Novosibirsk and Manjerok (Republic of Altai) from June 15 - 21, 2007.
He will first travel to Etnofest in Manjerok where he will hold a speech for festival and event managers on Cultural Tourism: the European Experience. He will attend this world music festival and hold interviews with the organizers of Etnofest.
Simon Mundy will also be present at the launch of an alternative Arts Center with stages and rooms for Master Classes and ateliers for visiting artists. This Center which provides for year round activities of incentives to travel, responds to the need for Manjerok to develop as a tourist destination and as an income generator. Read more …
Second Culture Forum Istanbul

In April 2006, the second edition of the Culture Forum Istanbul, will be jointly organized by the European Cultural Association (Avrupa Kültür Dernegi) and the International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts (IETM) with the support of The Amsterdam-Maastricht Summer University (AMSU), Felix Meritis (Amsterdam) and numerous other cultural institutes and european networks.
The event will bring together artists and cultural operators from Turkey and the EU, and aims to serve as a meeting point for the exchange of information, expertise and opinion in the cultural field. Read more …
