Thursday, April 19 - Sunday, April 23, 2006, Istanbul, Turkey
Technical University's Taşkışla Building
Margins of Europe
In April 2006, the second edition of
the Culture Forum Istanbul, will be jointly organized by the European Cultural Association (Avrupa Kültür Dernegi) and the International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts (IETM) with the support of The Amsterdam-Maastricht Summer University (AMSU), Felix Meritis (Amsterdam) and numerous other cultural institutes and european networks.
The event will bring together artists and cultural operators from Turkey and the EU, and aims to serve as a meeting point for the exchange of information, expertise and opinion in the cultural field.
The theme of this year's Culture Forum Istanbul is Margins of Europe.
In reaction to recent international discussion about physical European borders (i.e. Turkey joining the EU), the Culture Forum Istanbul will focus on Europe's cultural and artistic margins.
The forum includes conferences, panel discussions, working and meeting groups, brainstorming sessions and presentations of artistic productions and groups from Istanbul.
An internet-based discussion forum will help start a dialogue prior to the Forum.
